Reservoir Labs Supports SCinet at the SC18 Conference
Reservoir Labs is proud be part of a global team of 225 volunteer experts from 85 organizations that span industry, academia, and government that will build and operate SCinet, the dedicated high-capacity network for the SC Conference in Dallas this year. Exhibitors and visitors at SC18 year will enjoy access to 4.02 terabits per second of bandwidth across 1 million square feet in the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas thanks to SCinet.
The SC Conference supports thousands of exhibitors and more than 11,000 conference attendees. Many of the industry, academic, and lab exhibitors are running 100 Gbps feeds to the show floor to demonstrate their technologies and run collaborative experiments. This year the total WAN bandwidth will exceed 4 terabits per second.
The SCinet Security team has an interesting challenge: the dedicated high-capacity network has no firewall. Reservoir is contributing a cluster of R-Scope systems to offer deep network visibility and operationalize threat intelligence. Reservoir will also be testing ENSIGN, Reservoir’s spectral hypergraph analytics tool, as part of the Network Research Exhibition testbed (NRE) to identify malicious network behavior.
Reservoir’s Managing Engineers Alan Commike, Muthu Baskaran and Tom Henretty will also be contributing expertise and time to the effort. In his sixth year volunteering with SCinet, Alan Commike is co-lead for the Network Security team at SCinet this year, responsible for network and cyber security.
